Selected by the Maine Blues Society to represent Maine in the Solo/Duo category of the International Blues Challenge 2014 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Between Dead Stations is a modern blues trio featuring the songwriting, gritty vocals and searing guitars of Jake Irish, pa
ired with the skin smasherhimself Opie helstom on drums and percussion and the thunderous rhythms of James Morang's six-string bass. The combination is like gasoline and razor blades, with hard life, late nights and long roads adding a raw edge to their sound and electricity to their stage show.
Between Dead Stations has a sound like a hot rod, that mashes elements of americana. With rockabilly attitude on the outside, a Delta soul drivetrain and folk story-telling on the interior, it all fuses into a custom roadster built for comfort, and built for speed. These guys have a brand of blues that start in the heart, mess with your mind and go out with a bang.
